ServicesExterior Window Care
Exterior Window Washing in Glens Falls
Our crew washes the outside of your windows by hand: the panes, the frames, the sills and the screens. You end up with clear glass and no streaks, brighter rooms, and a price we tell you up front before we start.

Clean Glass, Done From the Outside
Exterior glass collects more than you think. Pollen in spring, dust and bugs in summer, road grime and salt spray through the winter. It builds a film that dulls the view and cuts the light coming in. We take that film off and leave the glass clear.
There is a practical side too. Dirty glass blocks some of the low winter sun that would otherwise warm a room on a clear day. Clean windows will not replace insulation, but they let you use the free light and heat you already have, so lamps go on a little later and south-facing rooms feel warmer.
We are licensed and insured, and our crew works on ladders around your home with care. We do the outside only, so nobody needs to come in and you do not need to be home.
Included Every Time We Come Out
- Hand-washed panes
- Each pane gets a soft applicator and a mild solution, then a squeegee pass to dry it. We finish the edges with a lint-free cloth so nothing drips onto the frame.
- Frames and sills cleaned
- Dirt, pollen and bugs settle on frames and sills. We wipe them down so the next rain does not wash that grime back over the glass.
- Screens washed
- We take the screens out, brush and rinse them, and put them back. A dirty screen makes clean glass look dull from inside.
- Upstairs windows too
- Upper-floor and hard-to-reach glass is part of the job. Ladders go on solid footing, and we protect plants and siding where they lean.
- A last check together
- Before we go, we look over the windows with you, or leave a note if you are out. Any spot we missed gets redone right then.
When Your Windows Need a Clean
Haze when the sun is low
Early and late sun reveals film you miss at midday. Glass that looks cloudy in that light is due.
Marks a rag won't remove
Sprinkler spray and overflowing gutters leave mineral spots. They set harder the longer they stay, so early cleaning helps.
Winter film
Months of storms and salty air leave a gray coat on outside glass. Many people book a full clean in spring.
Rooms seem dimmer
Turning on lamps earlier in the afternoon? Grimy glass could be one reason.
Selling or expecting guests
Clean glass does more for curb appeal than people expect. Buyers and visitors notice windows early.
What Goes Into the Price
Your price comes down to the amount of glass on the house and how hard it is to reach. We count the windows while quoting, so the number is set before we begin and nothing gets tacked on afterward.
Number and size of windows
Every pane takes time. Large picture windows and grid windows with many small panes run longer than plain double-hungs.
Height and access
Ground-floor glass is quick. Second stories, sloping lots and windows over decks or garden beds call for more time on the ladder.
How dirty the glass is
Glass that gets cleaned often goes faster than panes with years of film or hard-water marks that need more work.
Number of screens
Pulling screens, washing them and setting them back adds time, so we count them when we put the quote together.
How the Job Goes
- 1
Free quote by phone
You call, tell us roughly how many windows and how many stories, and we talk through what you want done. We give you a free quote and set a day that works.
- 2
Setup and protection
We walk the outside of your home, note any cracked panes or loose screens, and point them out before we touch anything. Ladders go on pads or stable ground.
- 3
Washing the glass
Screens come off first. Then glass, frames and sills, one side of the house at a time. Most homes take a few hours.
- 4
Final check and cleanup
Screens go back on, drips get wiped, and we pick up after ourselves. We look over the work before calling it done.

Window Cleaning Questions
Will you clean the inside glass as well?
No, we stay outdoors and handle the glass, frames, sills and screens. You don't have to be there, and no one walks through your rooms. The grime that cuts the light mostly builds up on the outside of the glass.
How often do windows need cleaning?
Once or twice a year suits most homes. A spring clean removes winter dirt and pollen, and a fall clean readies the glass for the low winter sun. Houses by busy roads or under trees may need it more.
Does rain ruin the job?
Usually not. On clean glass, rain tends to dry without many spots since there is no dirt to cling to. Most streaks people notice after a shower come from glass that was dirty to begin with.
Can clean windows cut my heating costs?
Slightly, on the right sides of the house. Grime blocks some sun, so clean south- and west-facing glass lets more winter sun warm a room. The gain is small and won't replace good windows or insulation.
How many years have you been at it?
Five years in business, working on houses in Glens Falls, Queensbury, South Glens Falls and nearby towns. Call any time for a free quote.
