ServicesGutter Clearing
Gutter Cleaning in Glens Falls
We pull debris out of your gutters by hand, run water through each downspout and make sure the flow goes where it belongs. Gutters that drain keep snowmelt away from your foundation and out of attic insulation, so the house stays drier and costs less to heat.

Why Clear Gutters Matter More Than They Look
A gutter has one job. Catch the water coming off the roof and send it down and away from the house. When leaves, seeds and shingle grit pack the trough, water spills over the edge and lands right against the foundation.
That water costs you in ways you don't always see. A damp basement means the dehumidifier runs longer. In winter, a clogged gutter holds slush that refreezes at the roof edge, and an ice dam can back water under the shingles and soak attic insulation. Wet insulation does a poor job of holding heat in.
We clear gutters so the whole system drains again, not just the parts you can see from the driveway. We've been in business 5 years, we're licensed and insured, and we work off ladders with care for your roof edge, siding and plantings.
What Our Gutter Service Includes
- Hand-cleared troughs
- We scoop debris out by hand into buckets or bags. Nothing gets blown onto your siding, windows or lawn.
- Downspout flush
- We run water through every downspout to make sure it drains. If one is packed, we clear it from the top or take apart the elbow at the bottom.
- Flow and pitch check
- With the water running, we watch for low spots where water sits, leaking seams and corners that overflow. You hear about anything we find.
- Hanger and fastener look
- Loose hangers let a gutter sag and hold water. We point out the sections that are pulling away from the fascia.
- Photos and cleanup
- We take before and after photos of the trouble spots and bag up all the debris. The ground under your gutters should look the way it did when we arrived.
Signs Your Gutters Are Clogged
Water spilling over the edge
During a good rain, watch the front lip. When water pours over it and the downspout stays quiet, there's a blockage somewhere in the run.
Plants growing up top
Seedlings and moss in a gutter mean there is enough wet dirt in there to grow in. That's a full clog waiting to happen.
Stains or washouts below
Streaks on siding, a trench in the mulch or splash marks on the foundation show where water is coming over.
Icicles along one stretch
Long icicles hanging from one section in winter often point to a gutter full of frozen debris and slush.
Sagging runs
A gutter full of wet leaves gets heavy. If a run is bowing or pulling off the fascia, the weight needs to come out soon.
A damp basement after rain
Water pooling near the foundation can find its way inside. Clogged gutters and short downspouts are a common source.
What Happens on Gutter Cleaning Day
- 1
Call for a free quote
Give us the basics: number of stories, about how much gutter there is and any trees near the roof. You get a free price and we choose a day together.
- 2
Ladders and tarps
Our ladders use standoffs that lean on the wall or roof instead of the gutter. We lay tarps over walkways and beds where debris might fall.
- 3
Scoop and flush
We move around the house section by section, scooping out the debris and then running water through the gutters and downspouts until they drain freely.
- 4
Review with you
We share the photos, point out any loose hangers, leaks or poor slope, and tell you honestly if it needs fixing now or can wait.

What Changes the Cost of a Gutter Cleaning
Houses vary, so we set the price once you tell us about yours. We quote for free over the phone before we start. Here is what affects the number.
- Total gutter run
- More feet of gutter means more ladder time. A plain ranch goes quicker than a home with wings and an attached garage.
- Stories and slope
- Taller homes and steep roofs need more setup and more caution to reach safely.
- How packed they are
- Gutters left for a few years, or set under large trees, fill with dense, heavy muck that takes longer to clear.
- State of the downspouts
- A downspout that is plugged solid may have to be opened at the elbow. We let you know first.
- Gutter guards
- With guards in place, we may have to lift them off to clean below, then put them back.
Gutter Cleaning Questions
Something not covered here? (518) 608-3991
How often do my gutters need cleaning?
For most homes, late fall once the leaves are down works well, and plenty of people add a spring visit for seeds and winter grit. With oaks or maples over the roof, twice a year is the safer plan. After our first visit we can tell you what we found.
Can clean gutters lower my heating bill?
Indirectly, yes. Gutters that drain let meltwater run off instead of holding slush that freezes into ice dams, which can force water into attic insulation. Dry insulation holds heat better, and a drier basement means the dehumidifier runs less.
Do you climb onto the roof?
Most of the time we stay on ladders fitted with standoffs, so we can reach the gutter without leaning on it. On a few low-slope spots we may step up on the roof, and we are careful with the shingles when we do.
Where does the debris go?
We bag it up and haul it away. Anything that splashes onto your siding or walks while we flush gets rinsed off too.
Do you need me there?
No. All the work happens outside, so we just need access to the gutters and an outdoor spigot. If you are away, we call afterward to walk you through the photos and anything we spotted.
